On Belay!

Hey dudes and dudettes…. so I got super busy and forgot to send this out last night, but at least you are getting it today.

- Grand Ledge trip this weekend on Sunday, April 1st. Those of you who were at the meeting, Ryan will be confirming your interest Friday. Those of you who were not there and want to go, call ryan at (231) 357-0568.

- we are planning another grand ledge trip April 7th (saturday), more to come about that

- another thing happening this weekend, my fundraiser for the poor homeless puppies… starts at Nooner, come out and have fun

- The horseshoe tournament fundraiser is A-GO!! more info to come about that.

- lead climbing instruction started this week and will continue next week

- Keith wanted me to remind everyone that he is going down to Kentucky April 13-15th, his vehicle is full, but if some more of you people want to go you can carpool. So call him for the details at (989) 621-1497

- Finally, Earth Day sign up went around, we have a booth from 10-6pm. It is on Thursday April 19th, in Warriner Mall. We’ll be having a slack line, leave no trace stuff, access fund stuff, cute dogs and on belay info. We will be sending out a reminder email for the times you signed up at. If you didn’t make the meeting and want to help out that day, shoot us an email with what time you can be there.

Ok, so I’m gonna try to tone this one down, apparently not everyone can handle my enthusiasm….

- Tonights meeting we had brownies, thunder and lightning! woot woot!

- Ryan is leaving tomorrow.. b/t 3-6pm for kentucky…. his phone number is in last weeks email.

- Keith is going down April 13-15, but he will leave the 12th (thursday) around 9pm.

- our facebook group is Central On Belay, join it

- We need some shirt designs people

- At the climbing competition this weekend Anjie placed in the ADVANCED womens division (she kick all the asses of the beginning men) and Ryan took 1st in the intermediate division, CONGRATS!

- Lead climbing lessons will start next week, Ryan will be doing them wednesdays, and there’s a rumor jordan will be doing them on other open climb nights…. hmm…

- We have a booth for Earth Day (Thursday April 19th) from 10am-6pm, ideas for that include “borrowing” the ROTC portable wall and having leave no trace info, we will have times for people to sign up to work the booth next week

- Grand Ledge day trip planned for April 7th (easter weekend) we would leave in the morning, climb all day! (for those of you without a map, Grand Ledge is located outside of lansing)

- We are gonna throw a massive party in Jordan’s backyard to raise money to “elongate” the bouldering wall (not making it taller, making it longer). Some horseshoes, maybe a band, a mini festival ((other ideas included a disc golf tourney)

- FYI someone needs to bring some sweets next week, I did it this week because no one emailed saying they would… jerks haha

- Other than that, I have a fundraiser next weekend March 31st, it is a mini golf tourney and some skill shot challenges.. I attached the flyer and registration forms, pass them along to friends, and stop by the UC tomorrow from 2-6pm to buy some cupcakes and donate some cash! All proceeds going to the animal shelter (gotta love dogs)

Hello there! So another email of meeting minutes, get ready, cause this one’s a doozie! (speaking of Doozies… does anyone know when they open back up for the spring??)

- Will O. brought in tasty cookies!! YUMMY!!

- Grand Valley Climbing Comp this weekend (Saturday, yes it is St Patty’s, but it is in the morning and early afternoon, so you can still get your party on later)
* registration 9am, open climb 10-1pm, Finals 230pm
* $25 buckos if you register on-site
* Ryan and Yasso are going, contact them
* you get a T-SHIRT!!!

- Speaking of climbing competitions, we want to have one next year in the fall. It’s been done before and we’ll create cool subcommittees to work on the routes, PR and what not… We’ll talk to Rob about it

- Other things Ryan will be talking to Rob about this week include the lead climbing shiznit and setting routes during open climb…. gotta get some “stuff” settled… details coming soon…..

- You know what else is coming soon… some trips to KENTUCKY, that’s right folks, spring is in the air, it’s time to pack the vehicles as tight as possible with people and gear (and dogs if applicable).
* High Adventure Club is heading down to Kentucky the weekend of March 23-25th, HOWEVER, you can be even cooler by going with RYAN. Call him @ (231)357-0568 if you are interested and want to go! He’ll be leaving sometime Friday.
* KEITH is FOR SURE going to Kentucky April 13-15th (cause his parents are going) so if you want to go with him, meet the parental units and get some climbing in, give him a ring at (989)621-1497 or just talk to him sometime before then…. seriously now you have like a month

- Keeping on the topic of Kentucky and cool shit you can do there (besides climbing)…. you can get ENGAGED… Sending out a big CONGRATS to Jordan and the little lady, he popped the question over spring break…

- Oh yea, during the meeting we looked at the cool pics from the spring break trip, you can see them too by going to Anjie’s facebook account.

- Ok, last but not least by any means… in fact it might be the most important thing in this email….. Who’s bringing the sweets? Each week someone has brought in some fantastic desserts for the rest of us during the meeting. If you would like to be this great person next week or the week after, email the account, and let me know. We can create a schedule, a little organization never hurt anyone! PLUS, by bringing the tasty treats, you will become the favorite on belay member that meeting… think about it…. let me know…
